From Nature, with love

I consider myself an eco-friendly person, I don’t throw away any of my trash when I’m in the streets or any public place, only in garbage cans, I don’t smoke, I keep my home garbage in store bags, and I don’t use a car or buses for transportation, I use only the subway on my way home and to the University.
However, I am not very committed to the environment nowadays, ‘cause I don’t separate from my trash any glass, plastic or paper for recycling them.  I have learned about “environmentally friendly practices” when I was very little at my school. Also, my parents have educated me to take care of nature, and I have watched a lot of tips on TV. I would love to try them, because I know they help and take care of all the nature of our planet. No so many people are aware of the damage and all the disastrous consequences that can cause machineries, fabrics, deforestation and noise pollution to our environment, along with and how this action contribute to the increment of greenhouse effect and global warming, along with all the harm toward us.
One of the main causes of the permanence of this environment pollution is, on one hand, the lack of information existing about the importance and serious effects that the unconsidered and abusive human actions are having to our health, which has long time consequences and our children’s children are going to experience, having this consequence as a huge bear to us.
On the other hand, the absence of penalties and punishments toward people who do not have the enough conscience to notices the severe damage that their doings have to people.

Let’s give Nature a strong voice and help it to defend its undeniable right to prevail and recover the health that it deserves.

Don't vote, don't complain

At first, I wasn’t really into the “voting” thing, I honestly didn’t care and didn't see the point of all of it, but then I realize that it is my duty as a future educator and professional to participate in politics, because I have to be an active and participative woman so I, next to my classmates and the entire citizens in Chile, can make a change in this society.
The candidates for the political elections should, in first place, live in the district so they can really know and recognize the actual problems existing in the area. Also, they have to be seen and known a long time before the electoral period, I have seen and heard propaganda of men and women that I have never knew before, they appear just in this process, because they need to be “familiar” to the people.
I have always criticize the Government in general, politicians and the capitalism system that reigns in our society nowadays, so I have thought of ways of solve the problems that complex us as a country, and also make a true and profound change, because the State powers, the executive, legislative and judicial, that are supposed to represent me, all the citizens, they don’t really represent us as a “popularity”.
I’m not a big fan of the political campaigns that there’s been giving by now; watching all that papers and propaganda around the country, on TV or in pamphlets on the streets is a little shocking for me. All of that money spent in electoral campaigns should be used for better purposes, for example, fixing the streets for the winter season, so people can across the street, not underwater and making sure that they will not get home with their feet soak.

Teaching with inspiration

This piece of news that I found caught my eye in particular, not only because it talks about a professor and his practice in the classroom, but also because it presents a new way to call students attention during lectures.

The University is the stage, the professors are the players. These are the words of Professor Warwick Murray, a British-born associate professor of human geography at the Victoria University of Wellington's school of geography, environment and earth sciences in New Zealan, who stands in front of his class, picks up his acoustic guitar and plays it to his class, inspired by the influence of the English rock pioneers.

His gold is to keep reminding to others that there is more than one way to apprehend an important theme or provide a vivid mental marker for students to retain information. He says that "Art is an entry point to the intellectual world - and as such it should always be a scholarly tool worth considering”.

"Take a trip up a mountainside, reach the top and you will find
Stretching out towards the sun a thousand peaks of which you know but one
This restless earth moving day by day
changes its form as we turn the other way
.... forms of thinking forms of belief
the restless earth and its shifting relief"

My favourite "Powerpuff Girls"

The dictionary defines the word “friends” as: a person with whom one has a bond of mutual affection”. Personally, this word is a very important one. I have had very few people that I have called my friends during my life.

Although I have met a lot of people, for me it takes a long time to call to someone my friend.
Nowadays, I have two best friends, which I consider the closest woman in my life right now, apart of my mother, because she is and will be the closest person in my life.

I met “Kiki” and “Mo” about less than a year at my university, although it has been no so many time, it is been enough to know them and create a strong bond with.

They are droll, witty, honest, sweets and, most important of all, reliable.

We have had many experiences together, like for instance, we went to the beach for this winter vacations, and we had a blast! We talked, shared and laughed like never before.

A friend is someone who cares
Someone who is always there beside you

A friend is someone special
Someone who you can rely on

A friend is someone who will never betray you
No matter who doesn't like you

A friend is someone you can trust
Someone kind of like you
